Introducing — A Word From My Childhood Bedroom

FP Newsletter - Header (week 1 - 1:4).jpg

Hello and Happy New Year!

I hope you’ve entered this fresh 365 with good health & as peaceful a mind/body/soul as circumstances allow.

This year, as a way of continuing to share my penchant for paper, I introduce to you my weekly newsletter - A Word From My Childhood Bedroom.

If you’re new here (welcome!) and in need of some context: I’m Francesca Pompili (FP) and I proudly own & operate Festa Paper (FP) out of my beloved childhood bedroom.

Every Monday, one of my personalities will appear in your inbox (please don’t unsubscribe yet). Said entries will then be archived in blog form on festapaper.com. Below you can learn a bit about the monthly schedule & categories.

I’m grateful that you’re here, and can’t wait to spend Monday mornings with you this year. From my desk, to yours.

xo,

FP

PAPER AND THE POST OFFICE — 1st Monday

The broadest category of the four, Paper & the Post Office will cover all things paper industry and yes, you guessed it - all things post office related. I’ll be covering topics like: the ins and outs of how both everyday and fine papers are made; environmental implications of the paper industry; how a pulp becomes the medium we use to tell the world what happened the day before; postage (POSTAGE!), and so on. And yes! You’re going to find out how a letter gets from Honolulu to Hoboken in 3 days for 55 cents. Most of us use paper daily, and we certainly all benefit from the United States Postal Service, but what do we actually know about either? Franky Paper is here to teach you.

PAPER PEOPLE — 2nd Monday

A little Q&A with a variety of interesting people (both my father and John Mayer have expressed interest) to learn about their relationship with paper. We will dig through those metaphorical desks and discover things like to whom they last wrote a thank you note, if they’re sentimental about cards, blue or black ink, if they’re open to new pen pals (wink, wink), and beyond. People love to talk about themselves. I love to talk about myself and paper. Week two is going to be a rip-roaring time.

Editor’s note: Festa Paper does not discriminate based on any person’s abilities - lefties will be featured.

PETTY PAPER — 3rd Monday

We love a clickbaity title. Petty Paper will cover the gambit of correspondence etiquette - weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, tragedies, thank yous, interviews, and so on. I will gladly share how to appropriately and effectively use paper so you don’t become known as the gauche friend! Good paper manners = truly the easiest way to bamboozle people into thinking you have it together, I promise. Emily Post is shaking right now.

THIS MONTH AT FP — 4th Monday

A monthly round-up of all things happening at FP HQ. Bestsellers of the month, upcoming product releases, custom projects, my skincare routine…you know, the usual behind the scenes stuff. Fourth wall? Not familiar with her work.
